What is the normal acclimation time a new soft coral in an aquarium?
Today I bought my first piece of live coral, one of size medium mushroom leather coral. After floating the bag for about 30 minutes. I introduced him into the tank. The piece is still mounted anchorage-rock is attached. I buried in the sand near some pieces of rock from Fiji. I'm noticing that the portion of the flower head is closing now that it has been there for about 4 hours. Is this normal? If so, how? Thank you. Update 5/7/08: It's been there for 20 hours and see that it is bending to the side almost touching the sand with one of its lobes. I got buried in the sand so that the foot is surrounded by sand everywhere Is this correct or should be above the sand?
Use the drip method to take a bucket and put the coral and the water into wine in the bucket then take a piece and put an end tubeing tie his tank in the middle and not get the water flowing through the tube to tighten or loosen the not in the middle of the tube to control the drip rate since the end dripping into the bucket and wait about 1 hour and must be properly acclimated. Thus it is better not only for temperature, but gradually get accustomed to their salt content, which is never the same the stores.
