How can I make a peanut butter biscuit firm, not soft and crumbly?

I found these tips from a while back. They are followed and can be your cookies become the way you want: "If you have a cookie recipe you like, but are not getting the desired results, follow these tips to get the perfect cookie: Crispy: For crisp, crunchy cookies, use all (butter not margarine!) and a proportion of white sugar. Use egg yolks instead of one whole egg. Cookies must be cooked thoroughly. Let cool on baking sheet one minute before transferring to a cooling rack. Flat: Yes you want your cookies on the flat side, may do some or all of the following things: Use all butter (do not use margarine, use real butter), use of wheat flour or bread flour, increase the sugar content slightly, add a little liquid to the dough and bring dough to room temperature before baking. Puffy: light, cookies swollen, butter or margarine and reduced use of fat, add an egg, reducing sugar, use cake flour or pastry flour, use of dust baking instead of baking soda and refrigerate your dough before baking. Chewy: Try melting the butter before adding sugar to the mixture. Remove from oven Cookies few minutes before they are made, while their centers are still soft, but they are just cooked. Edges should be golden. To use the brown sugar, honey or molasses, and a sweetener. Cool cookies on the plate for several minutes after cooking before transferring to cooling rack.
