What kind of life of large brown spider in northern Michigan?
I have a property on an island in northern Michigan and often find great brown spider about the size of the palm of your hand. They are fast and jump. They often come home and have several bites on the legs that are the size a quarter are red and deep purple horribly itchy and bleed. Im not sure if your connection, but is a kind of spider could this be, or what is causing these bites?
They are the wolf spiders, and become quite large, so they have very "robust" legs, because instead of running into a corner, as a normal house spider, are dug in the ground and hunt their prey at night. They are nocturnal, so I wonder why so many are finding during the day, are fast and prefer to escape the bite, but if by chance in a nest, which was put on the defensive and bite.
